Order of operations


B- Brackets
EExponents 
D- Division                       \ Division and Multiplication
M- Multiplication               / Like Mother and father. (EQUAL)
A- Addition                       \ Addition and Subtraction
S- Subtraction                  / Like brother and Sister. (EQUAL)


Rule 1:   First perform any calculations inside parentheses and check if there are any exponents.
Rule 2:   Next perform all multiplications and divisions, working from left to right.
Rule 3:   Lastly, perform all additions and subtractions, working from left to right.
E.g.  


 2 + 3 x 4 =
        \  /
 2 +   12  = 14


























Question 1:
Annie had been asked to calculate 1.7+6÷2. She claims the answer is 3.85. Do you agree? Explain why or why not.
Solution
Nope because
1.7+6÷2
1.7+ 3 (6 divided by 2 is 3)
1.7+3=4.7
Question 2: 
Put brackets in the following expression to get the largest value possible. What problem strategy did you use?
3x2.8+6.4÷4
Question 3: 
Create a problem that could be solved using the following expression.
2.5+1.25+5x1.6

I really like your scribe-post.On the bedmas, the M has to be multiplication. I understand the video, it really helped me with the order of operations.

Good job kamille. You forgot to put question three but either than that, your scribe was great. Also you could have put that multiplication and division are like mom and dad and addition and subtraction are like brother and sister.

Hi Kamille. Good scribe post! On your rules for order of operations, don't forget to check for exponents. Also make sure your font color is dark enough to see, and your font size should be bigger. Your video helped. Good Job!

Hi Kamille, Great work on your scribe post! I really like the picture you add. Kamille, you forgot to put the solutions for numbers 2 and 3 for the homework questions. But you did put the solution for number 1, and I agree with you on that. Always remember to solve the multiplication or division questions before addition or subtraction! Great work Kamille!
