test corections # 13

Use the coordinate grid to do the following:
a)Reflect the triangle along the x-axis. Label
triangle S'T'V'

b)translate figure S'T'V' 4 units left 1 unit down

c) what are the coordinates of v"

The ansewer to that would be (0,-6)

To get the ansewer you need to get a COORDINATE GRID
Then you need to make a triangle in quadrrent 2
then follow the steps first you need to reflect thr triangle on the x-axis
then translate it 4 units left 1 unit down
then tell the coordinates of V"

Test Corrections # 5

Question:

A coordinate grid has

the following set of ordered pairs: (2,-2), (0,-4), (3.0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3). The point (0,-4) is out of place.

How I got the answer wrong:

Instead of plotting down (-2,-5), I plotted down (-2,-4). So now the points: (-2,-4) and (0,-4) look out of place. But the question said only (0,-4) was out of place not (-2,-5). So I wrote FALSE instead of TRUE. That is how I got the answer wrong.

Blue: (0,-4) - The number that was out of place.

Green: (-2,-4) - The wrong ordered pair

Question:

Indicate whether the statement is true or false.

___ 5. A coordinate grid has the following pairs

(-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3), The point (0,4) is out of place.

How I got the answer wrong...

Well first, I plotted all of the points on a coordinate grid and it showed me this...

Light Green being all the other points

Dark Green being (0,-4)

I thought that since the (-2,-5) is further away from all the other points, it is also out of place with (0,-4) so I put F-for false. BUT I WAS WRONG!

Answer:

The answer is T-for true. Even though (-2,-5) are further away from the other ordered pairs, they all still form a straight diagonal line. The only point out of place is (o,-4).

Test Correction # 9

___ 9. Which point on the coordinate grid has coordinates (-1, 2)?

a) A b) B c) C d) D

It is B because it says in the paper
(-1, 2) and you have to go 1 unit left horizontaly from the origin on the x-axis. Then you go 2 unit up verticaly to the y-axis and it ends up on quadrant II.
