Measures of Central Tendency!

A value that represents the centre of a data set.

Can be mean, median, or mode.

A data set is a group of numbers that you must arrange in order from least to greatest.

23,4,5,6,5,4,5,3,4,5,6,7,5,34,3

2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,5,5,6,6,7,34

Median - The middle number in a set of data, offer the data have been arrange in order.

Median of 2,5,6,8,9 is 6

Mode - The most frequently occuring number in a set of data.

Mode and most both have 4 letters.

Mode of 3,5,7,9 is 7

Mode of 1,2,3,5 is no mode

Mean - A mean of central tendency
the sum of a set of values divided by number
of values in the set

Mean of 6,4,8 is 6

Range - The positivew difference between the largest and smallest values in a the set

Range of 4,8,5,6,9,1,3,5,8,16

Outlier - A value that is much larger of smaller than the outlier data value
the data set may haver more than 1 outlier or zero outliers

Outliers are 1,67,68,67,64,65,100

Find mean, median, mode, range, and outliers for the following data sets.

Hi Randolph, awesome job on your scribe post! The video that you added, it was very easy to understand. But the first example that you showed for the mode is wrong. There is no mode for the numbers 3,5,7,9 because all the numbers only show once. Also, the definition for outlier is wrong. The correct definition is: outlier- a value that is much larger or smaller than the other data value. The data set may have more than 1 outlier. And also, you spelled "positivew" wrong. It is spelled positive view. I noticed that you don't have a link, so I fond a link for you: http://www.quia.com/rr/51667.html

Hi Randolph, awesome scribe post! I liked how you used different colors for the font, it made it really stand out. It was really easy to read. But the answer for one of the examples you had for mode is wrong. The mode for 3, 5, 7, 9 is not 7, it is nothing, there is no mode. All of the numbers appear only once do there's no mode. You also made another mistake by spelling "positivew" instead of "positive". I noticed that you don't have a link so here's one I think you might want to add to your scribe post:

Great Job Randolph!

Hi Randolph. I really like your scribe post. I liked how you used different colors for your font you could have made you font a little bigger. But um one of your answer for one of the examples for mode is wrong. The mode for 3, 5, 7, 9, is not 7 it is no mode. They appear once only not twice. You also spelled positive wrong. I would suggest at the bottom change the color because its hard to see if its yellow. I think you should but a link.

Hey Randolph, great scribe post. I liked how you added lots of color so that it could stand out more. I also liked how it was organized and very easy to read. I think you should make your font a bit bigger so that we could see more. For one of the modes it says the mode for 3, 5, 7, 9, is 7, the answer is not seven there is actually no mode for this one.
Here is a link that I found for you:

Hi Randolph, I really like your scribe post. really liked how you organized your info so that it is very easy for us readers to understand. you had a mistake when you said for a data set of 3,5,7,9 that the mode was 7. for that data set there is no mode because all the numbers only appear once in the set.over all you did a great job.
here is a video that you could add on central tendency:

hope this helps

Hi Randolph, good job on your scribe-post. I really liked how you showed examples for each measure of central tendency. You mad a mistake on the mode example. The answer is that there is no mode, and you spelled "postitivew" wrong. It is supposed to be positive view. I also liked how it was organized and easy to read. The video was helpful. I suggest making the font size bigger.

Hey Randolph! Your scribe post was very nice. I like how you change the font color, to make it really attractive. The definitions helped me more understand about Mode, Median, Range, Outliers, etc. I also like how you showed examples to every category. To make your post even better, I suggest you change the font size, and put more pictures so that the person who's looking at it could understand it better. Anyway, here's another suggested video: http://youtu.be/-9Skzia6TLI
