First we drew a 4x6 rectangle on a centimetre grid.
Then draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner and cut along the line
We have made 2 triangles that has the exact same area.We determined that not all triangles are half of a rectangle, but all triangle is half of a parallelogram.
We also determined this to be the formula
Then we did show you know in the textbook
A= BxH÷2
A= 3x3÷2
A= 4.5 cm2
A= BxH÷2
A= 4x6.5÷2
A= 13 cm2
