Test Corrections # 5

Question:

A coordinate grid has

the following set of ordered pairs: (2,-2), (0,-4), (3.0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3). The point (0,-4) is out of place.

How I got the answer wrong:

Instead of plotting down (-2,-5), I plotted down (-2,-4). So now the points: (-2,-4) and (0,-4) look out of place. But the question said only (0,-4) was out of place not (-2,-5). So I wrote FALSE instead of TRUE. That is how I got the answer wrong.

Blue: (0,-4) - The number that was out of place.

Green: (-2,-4) - The wrong ordered pair

Test corrections for # 5

Question:

Indicate whether the statement is true or false.

___ 5. A coordinate grid has the following pairs

(-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3), The point (0,4) is out of place.

How I got the answer wrong...

Well first, I plotted all of the points on a coordinate grid and it showed me this...

Light Green being all the other points

Dark Green being (0,-4)

I thought that since the (-2,-5) is further away from all the other points, it is also out of place with (0,-4) so I put F-for false. BUT I WAS WRONG!

Answer:

The answer is T-for true. Even though (-2,-5) are further away from the other ordered pairs, they all still form a straight diagonal line. The only point out of place is (o,-4).

Test Correction For Question 22

Question :
Use the coordinate grid shown to do the following:
a) Rotate ABC 90 degrees in a counter clockwise direction about centre of rotation C.
b) Translate A' B' C' 3 units right and 3 units down.
c) What are the coordinates of B"

Answer :
a) rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise.

b) translated A' B' C' 3 units right and 3 units down.

c) (1,0)

; here is a game you can play to practice rotation.

Test corrections for question 11

Question:

A line of reflection is also called a                         ?

Answer:

Mirror line.

test corrections #2

question : translations, rotations, and reflections change the size of sides or angles of the original figure

answer : is false the transformation does not change the size of sides or angles of the original figure
