Decimal, Percent and Fraction

Today in class we talked Decimals Percent and Fraction. We had questions to do and find out what the answer was.
Question:

1 Out of 100 is also know as _____.
2 A number over 1 is also known as _______.
3 A whole number over a whole number is also know as _____.

Answers:
1 Percent
2 Decimal
3 Fraction

Convert the following fractions to decimals and percents. Show your Work

1/2 3/4 2/5 1/3

Make 1/2 then divide 2 on the 2 which equals 1. Then divide 2 on the top with the one which will equal into 0.5. Then write it as a percent 50%.

Make 3/4 divide 4 on the 4 which makes 1. Do the same one at the top which will be into 0.75. Then write it as a percent 75%.

Make 2/5 divide 5 on the 5 which will make 1. Do the same thing at the top which will be into 0.4. Then write it as a percent 40%.

Make 1/3 divide 3 on the 3 which will make 1. Do the same thing at the top which will be into 0.3. Then write it as a percent 30%.

Convert the following decimals to percents and fractions in lowest terms.

0.125 0.6

0.125
To make the Percent. Make the 1 at the bottom of the 0.125 times itself by 100 which will make 100. Do the same thing at the top which will make 12.5 for the percent 12.5%.
To make the fraction you need to make the bottom of the 0.125 times itself by 1000 which will make 1000. Do the same thing at the top 0.125 times 1000 equals 125. Divide the 1000 by 5 which will equal 200. Do the same thing at the top which will equal 25. Then divide the 200 by 25 which equals 8. Then divide the 25 by 25 which equals 1. Then that will be your answer 1/8 because its a whole number over a whole number.

0.6
To make the Percent. Make the 1 at the bottom of the 1.6 times itself by 100 whch will equal 100. Do the same thing at the top which will equal 60. Then thats your answer 60% To make the fraction. Make the 1 at the bottom of 0.6 times itself by 10 which will equal 10. Do the same thing at the top times 0.6 times 10 which equals 6. Make the 10 divide itself by 2 which equals 5. Do the same thing at the top which will equal 3. Then that will be your answer. 3/5

Heres a picture of a Fraction a Decimal and a Percent.

Hey Aaron! The font size and change of color was very good! The pictures are great but you should make it a little bit bigger. I think you should put a video next time. Great Job!

Aaron, great scribe post.I really liked how you used a different colour for every different thing you talked about. The pictures also helped me understand how to convert fractions, decimals, and percents.Over all you did a really good job on your scribe post. I found another video for you that you could use.

Hey Aaron. Great scribe and it's okay if you don't have a video. So here is a video that you could try to put next time.

Those pictures are helpful and you got everything right on your answers.

Hi Aaron, this scribe is very well done and I like the colors, it makes it easier to read, and the pictures helped explain more. You could have added a link like this one: http://www.webmath.com/dec2fract.html

Hi Aaron, this scribe looks very good! I like the pictures, the font that was very well seen, and your good explanation, but for the title instead of "Decimal, Percent and Fraction", the title should have been "Converting Fractions into Decimals and Percents" or "Converting Decimals into Percents and Fractions" but over all you did a Very good job! Here is a video and a link that I found for you to use:

Hi Aaron, you did an awesome job on your scribe post. I liked how you made the font big so it was easy to read. But in your first sentence you forgot to add commas, and it didn't make sense either. You wrote, today in class we talked decimals percent and fractions. This is how you are supposed to write it. Today in class we talked "about" decimals, percents, and fractions. Your explanation on how to find the percentage and the decimal of 1/2 was confusing to me. I think that you should write it like this:
1. Write 1/2.
2. Divide the bottom number by 2.
3. Divide the top number by 2.
You should get the answer 0.5, and in percentage it should be 50%. I think that you should rewrite your explanations again, so it will be easier to understand.

Hi Aaron, great scribe post! I liked how you used different colors explaining the questions and answers. However, your explanations were a bit confusing. Instead of writing your notes in long sentences, you should have written them in point form.

1. Write 2/5
2. Divide the denominator(bottom number) by 5 to make 1
3. Divide the numerator(top number) by 5 as well. You should have the answer 0.4
Then write it as a percent: 40%.
And that would have been a more easier way to understand. Remember to always edit your work before you publish it. On the first sentence you wrote, "Today in class we talked Decimals Percent and Fraction." You are missing the word "about" in that sentence and, you forgot to add your punctuations. It should be written like this:"Today in class, we talked about Decimals, Percents, and Fractions." Other than that, you did a great job!
Here's a link and a video on how to covert Decimals in Percentages and Fractions.

Hey Aaron! Great job on your scribe post! I really like how you change the font size and the color. The colors made it more attractive and the font size made it easier for us to read. Nice pictures you had there. When I was reading your post, it was kinda boring. You would've just write the important facts in point form. Try making it a little fun to read. In some sentences, you forgot to put commas such as the first sentence on your first paragraph. It should be "Today in class we talked Decimals,Percent, and Fraction".

Great job Aaron! Here are some link that should help you:
